Jon M. Ponath
Jon joined Robertson Stromberg’s litigation team as an associate lawyer in 2017.
Jon earned a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance from the University of Saskatchewan (U of S), graduating with Great Distinction in 2013. He earned his Juris Doctorate of Law at the U of S in 2016, also graduating with Great Distinction. Jon completed his articles while working as a Law Clerk at the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan and was called to the Bar in 2017.
During his studies at law school, Jon earned the Silas E. Halyk Prize in Criminal Law for the highest academic standing in the Criminal Law course. He was also awarded the Goldenberg Prize in Taxation for highest academic standing in the Tax I course and the Tom Gauley Prize in Common Law Studies for highest combined academic average in the Contracts law and Tort Law courses. Jon served as an editorial board member for the Saskatchewan Law Review and teaching assistant for Legal Research and Writing.
While attending law school, Jon acted as VP Athletics with the Law Students’ Association and as VP Promotions for the Corporate Law Club. Jon also travelled to Thailand in 2011 to volunteer at a school in Bangkok to help teachers and students develop their English skills.
