Travis K. Kusch

Travis works primarily in the field of insolvency and debt restructuring. In that practice, he assists creditors, debtors and insolvency professionals.  He has ample experience assisting creditors in enforcing their rights. In addition, Travis frequently works with debtors, particularly farmers, in navigating financial pressures with a keen interest in matters involving The Saskatchewan Farm Security Act, the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.

When Travis is not assisting clients with insolvency matters, he maintains both a general litigation practice with a focus on insurance defence, as well as assisting natural resource companies in acquiring and managing natural resource rights.

Travis has experiences ranging from mediation and Provincial Court to appearing successfully at the Court of Appeal.

Travis began attending the University of Saskatchewan in 2012 and after two years, was accepted into law school. He obtained his JD in 2017.

Travis is active with his professional development frequently attending and speaking at various courses throughout the province. Travis most notably was a presenter at the 2023 Canadian Bar Association National Insolvency Conference in Montreal.

Travis has been active in Saskatchewan Minor Baseball as a player and coach for many years. He coached for five years in his hometown of Lloydminster, taking multiple teams to provincial competitions. He currently plays in the Saskatoon Men’s Baseball League during the spring and summer.

In the Spring of 2021, Travis joined the KidSport Corporate Challenge Fundraising Committee.

In June 2021, Travis was appointed to the Elmwood Residences Inc. Board of Directors having recently been appointed to co-chair of the board and chair of the governance committee.
