BSE Class Action Authorized In Quebec

Canadian cattle producers filed a $7 Billion class action suit against the Government of Canada. The action was launched in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec, citing its failure to ban dangerous use of ruminant products in cattlefeed until 1997. Feed producer Ridley Inc, and is also named in the action.

On June 15, 2007 the Quebec Supreme Court released its decision to authorize the action as a class action for the cattle producers of Quebec. Reynold Robertson of the Saskatoon Office is lead counsel for the class action in Saskatchewan.
