Les Prosser, K.C. receives Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Saskatchewan)

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Saskatchewan) celebrates the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. This award honours those who have made a positive impact on our province.

Les was recognized for his outstanding contributions to his profession. Throughout his career, Les has been very involved in his professional organizations, both enhancing his own knowledge and contributing to the profession at large. He served several years as a Bencher to the Law Society of Saskatchewan (1988-1993), was President of the Law Society in 1992 and was Saskatchewan delegate to the Federation of Law Societies; he has served on the executive of the Canadian Bar Association’s Saskatchewan Branch, was National Chair of Real Property with the Canadian Bar Association, and served as President of the Saskatoon Bar Association. Les has been a sessional lecturer in business law and real property at the University of Saskatchewan Colleges of Commerce and Law. He served as Vice-Chair of the Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission from 1998 to 2001. In 2017, Les was appointed as the chair of the Provincial Court Judges’ Compensation Commission which completed its mandate at the end of that year. In 2018, Les served as chair and sole member of the Justices of the Peace Compensation Commission. He is also a former member of the Federal Judiciary Advisory Committee for Saskatchewan.
