Sean M. Sinclair

Sean Sinclair is a partner with Robertson Stromberg LLP. His main areas of practice are:

  1. Working with professionals and regulators in navigating investigations and disciplinary processes;
  2. Advising professional regulators on drafting and developing regulations;
  3. Assisting media organizations on issues of defamation, publication bans and privacy issues;
  4. Representing individuals involved with complex estate and family law issues;
  5. Assisting clients with civil litigation cases.

Sean has appeared before all levels of courts in Saskatchewan and Alberta, as well as the Federal Court of Canada. In addition, Sean has acted as counsel for members, conduct committees and disciplinary tribunals in administrative hearings.

A University of Saskatchewan graduate, Sean received his Bachelor of Laws degree in 2003. He was called to both the Saskatchewan and Alberta Bars in 2004.

Sean has been named a Benchmark “Litigation Star” and a Lexpert in Defamation and Media Litigation. He is a frequent presenter at legal conferences in a variety of practice areas. He has published numerous articles about professional regulation, family law, ethics, estate litigation and media law.

Sean was a bencher of the Law Society of Saskatchewan from 2012 to 2018. In that role, Sean authored numerous decisions and was the chair of the Admissions and Education Committee and the Library Committee. Sean is also a past governor of the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association, the former legislative liaison for the Family Law North subsection of the CBA and the prairie representative on the Canadian Media Lawyers Association.

Sean is currently acting as a board member of the Law Foundation of Saskatchewan and as the Canadian Bar Association representative to the Court of King’s Bench Bar Judicial Council.

Sean is on the board of directors of the Prairie Hospice Society Inc. and the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra. He was previously on the board of directors of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra and was on the capital campaign committee of the Nutrien Wonderhub Children’s Discovery Museum.

Sean has been a musician with various orchestras and bands throughout Saskatoon and Edmonton.
